The International Festival of Winter Cinema (IFWC) recognizes and celebrates local and international cinema with winter, alpine, and polar themes of any style or genre. We are the world’s only free, outdoor winter film festival that shows films on a snow screen.
The International Festival of Winter Cinema (IFWC) aims to be the premier international juried and competitive film festival featuring unique perspectives and experiences presented through winter-themed cinema and audiovisual art.
For our 2020 season we will feature a virtual reality video installation about the challenges and fun of living in Canada’s north, an experimental video installation by local artists Gary James Joynes and Brad Neck, and a 24 hour filmmaking contest.
