THIS EVENT IS ON HIATUS FOR 2021
Sponsored by: Pembina Pipeline Corporation
Get your students out of the classroom and into the great outdoors this winter! We offer a full-day program for students of all ages to enjoy art, sport, and culture in a winter setting. The program runs from 9:40am to 2:00pm, though groups are welcome to stay later to enjoy the site. The program takes place in Hawrelak Park and consists of three 45 minute activity stations (Snow Carving, Winter Sports, and Heritage Village), a lunch break, and exclusive entry into the Ice Castle following lunch - only participants of the school program will have access at this time. The cost is $430+GST per group of up to 30 students. An invoice will be sent for payment shortly after sign up.
Students will build and create with snow. They will learn about and experience the snow sculpting process by using forms, molds, and tools to carve and create images.
Students will visit a traditional Indigenous winter camp to learn about Indigenous traditions, customs, and values through stories and activities.
Students will have the opportunity to play a variety of winter sports, including but not limited to jam can curling, broomball, and hockey.
Ice Castle Tour
Following lunch, groups will have exclusive access to the Ice Castle. Don’t be surprised if you find your students exclaiming “Cool!” while exploring the labyrinth of icicles and lights! Find out more: www.icecastles.com
