"LIGHT THE WAY TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE" and celebrate your mobility at this year's Silver Skate Festival!

The Children's Ability Fund, the official charity of choice of the Silver Skate Festival, has worked in communities in Northern Alberta for over 60 years and has provided over 10 million dollars in equipment to support people with disabilities in your community.

However. equipment thatt can offer people with disablities a little more independence often comes with a very large price tag - a walker can cost $4,000, to make a vehicle accessible can cost over $10,000 and a power wheel chair can cost well over $15,000.  This is an expense that most families simply cannot afford and is sometimes not covered by other sources.

We can help and you can too!  At this year's festival, show your support of people with disabilities and the Children's Ability Fund by making a donation on-site or purchasing your "shining star" necklace from one of our friendly volunteers.  Your donation will help someone continue to walk, talk and roll in our communities!

Capital City Savings (now Servus) commissioned the painting by TOTI to commemorate the Silver Skate Festival (and Edmonton Winter Triathlon) and benefit the Children’s Ability Fund. High quality prints and cards were created from the art and all proceeds from the sale of these prints go to the charity to help fund programs.

Toti is one of Canada’s most loved artists Toti’s trademark is her ability to capture the subtle rhythm of family life, and the pleasure of city living, indoors and outdoors recording with a stroke of her brush the people and places of Edmonton.
