12th Annual International Snow Sculpture Symposium

Snow sculpture is a perennial favourite at the Silver Skate Festival. This year, teams of 2-3 artists will transform 8-ft high, 8-ft wide and 8-ft deep blocks of snow into magical creations. When they are finished, eight artworks will create an ephemeral sculpture garden for audiences to enjoy for the duration of the festival.

Although we think that all snow artists are winners (each year, the sculptures are universally dazzling), spectators can vote for their favourites. On February 11, 2018 at our Everyone's a Winner Ceremony, we will announce our People's Choice and Artist's Choice winners.

The Snow Sculptures will be up for the duration of the festival and we invite you to take a peak at your leisure. If you'd like to watch the artwork in progress, join us at the symposium on February 9, 2018 beginning at 9 am.
