SILVER SKATE FESTIVAL 2011
SNOW SCULPTURE COMPETITION - (TBD)February 18th and 20th, 2011Hawrelak Park, Edmonton

The fourth annual Snow Sculpture Garden was a resounding success. One or two person teams created works of art from an 8' high x 4' wide x 4' deep block of snow within a 20' x 20' area and each snow sculpture was as unique as the artists that created them. With six local teams, two teams from neighboring Saskatchewan, two teams from Argentina, an artist from Gabon, Africa and an artist from Mexico City, Mexico, twelve pristine sculptures created a ephemeral sculpture garden for the Silver Skate audience to enjoy.
In four short years, the Silver Skate Sculpture Garden has grown from a local event to an event of international importance. This growth would not have been possible without the help of all our sponsors and especially without the help of our Snow Sculpture Garden title Sponsor, Cessco Fabricating and Engineering Ltd.
Inquiries from around the world for the 2011 event have already been received and the Silver Skate team is working hard to nurture this growth and we look forward to expanding this programming at future festivals.
The fifth annual Silver Skate Snow Sculpture Competition will take place in Edmonton during The Silver Skate Festival, February 18th-20th in the picturesque river valley at Hawrelak Park.
