In six short years,  the Silver Skate Sculpture Garden has grown from a local event to an event of international importance. This growth would not have been possible without the help of all our sponsors and especially  without the help of our Snow Sculpture Garden title Sponsor, Cessco Fabricating and Engineering Ltd.

6TH ANNUAL SNOW SCULPTURE COMPETITION - FABLES, FIGMENTS & FOLK TALES

This year's theme is Fables, Figments and Folk Lore.  Every culture and country have stories to tell.  Passed on from generation to generation these stories paint a vivid picture of who we are and where we come from.  Many of these Fables and Folk tales are universal and share a common thread or theme while others are as unique as the storyteller telling them; perhaps a figment of their imagination.  Artists are invited to share their stories at the Silver Skate Festival and create a snow sculpture inspired by a Fable, a Figment or a Folk Tale.

One or two person teams creat works of art from an 8' high x 4' wide x 4' deep block of snow within a 20' x 20' area and each snow sculpture is as unique as the artists that create them.  The twelve pristine sculptures create a ephemeral sculpture garden for the Silver Skate audience to enjoy.

Inquiries from around the world are always being received and the Silver Skate team is working hard to nurture this growth and we look forward to expanding this programming at future festivals.
